Description

This 'Letholite' travel case is lined in figured silk, with two internal rouched pockets. It has a band of curved zinc to keep the bottom level in shape. The Letholite Luggage Factory was situated on Ponsonby Road, Auckland, and opened in 1919 for the firm of Palmer, Collins & Whittaker. The business went on to engage 50 workers, making it an important employer and a major supplier of good quality luggage to the New Zealand public.
