Portrait of a young woman and child in front of a wooden doorway. Young woman is wearing a black tasselled korowai and two pounamu pendants with gold clasps around her neck. Her collar is buttoned with two buttons which feature portraits of undistinguishable people. Child wearing a korowai, possibly a kahu kuri (dog or goat hair cloak), and a pounamu heitiki.
