Description

A gold half sovereign coin dated 1881, from the reign of Queen Victoria. The obverse features the Young Victoria in profile designed by William Wyon, surrounded with the words 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA 1881'. On the reverse is what we believe to be the coat of arms of King Edward II (Victoria's eldest son) and King George V (Victoria's grandson): Quarterly of 4: 1st & 4th: Plantagenet (England); 2nd: Stuart (Scotland); 3rd: Ireland.
