Description

A metal metal cap badge of the Scots Guards. It features a rayed and faceted star upon which sits a circlet with the legend 'Nemo me impune lacesset' around a Scottish thistle. This is surmounted by a crown and a horn below. The symbolism and style are similar to that of Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) badges. The Scots Guards is one of the five Foot Guards regiments of the British Army, beginning as the personal bodyguard of King Charles I of England and Scotland in the 17th century.
