Description

Did you know that fungi lose much of their colour when dried - looking perhaps less stunning than they do when you encounter them in the wile? The NZ Fungarium contains over 100,000 dried specimens, including some extremely rare samples. Peter Buchanan, a mycologist (fungi specialist) for over 40 years, gives us a glimpse of the workings of the fungarium, and introduces one of his favourite specimens.
