Description

A singer brand, child's sewing machine in its original box. This style of machine appeared on the market in 1910 and was meant to teach children how to make clothes for their dolls. The machine was also meant to 'instil the singer habit' in children - meaning that they would grow up seeing sewing as a hobby rather than a chore and when they purchased a larger machine they would want a singer.
