Cyathea dealbata (Silver Ferns) are endemic to New Zealand, growing up to approximately 10 metres in lower hillslopes. Mature Silver Ferns are recognised by the silver colour on the underside of the fronds on the fern and browning (seen on sharp drooping tips). The leaves are slightly alternating with a green upper side. The Silver Fern is of the genus of tree ferns Cyathea, thus associating with other ferns in the Cyathea genus through common descent, such as the fern Cyathea milnei. Cyathea...
