This research examined the experiences of iTaukei (indigenous people of Fiji) patients and nurses in the context of the diabetes epidemic in Fiji. Vanua theory, which has some influence on iTaukei health beliefs and practices through its physical, social and cultural elements informed the design and conduct of the research.
