Description

A tiny glass ampoule containing 5cc of sterule, anesthone 3% in a benzyl alcohol, ether and sterile oil solvent, used as an anaesthetic. This object is associated with renowned Riverton doctor Dr Ninian George Trotter. Doctor Trotter trained first at the University of Otago and then went on to gain a Master of Surgery at the University of Edinburgh. During the 1880s he practiced medicine in London Hospitals.
