Description

A mounted black and white photograph of what appears to be a rural scene; with possibly a stream, surrounded by bush. Writing below the photo describes the scene as "The Puzzle" taken at Lynwood, Te Anau. Further writing tells us that the Lynwood and Te Anau stations belonged to the Hankinson brothers until 1882. Edward Milford Hankinson, also know as Captain Hankinson, along with his brothers, leased the Lynwood run (also known as Linwood) in the late 1850's. They farmed it until 1882. More ...
