Refers to: the origin of his journey to Austria as sanctioned by Governor Browne at the suggestion of the Captain of the Novara, Commodore Bernhard von Wüllerstorf-Urbair, with one purpose of seeing the King [Emperor Franz Joseph]; and his audience with the King on 16 February and their talk together. Comments that he may not see him [Grey] as he is soon to return to New Zealand, where he may or may not see him. Asks he write to him in London...
