Description

An image labelled: ' "Holmside" Thornbury'. Matthew Fallow arrived in New Zealand from Scotland aboard the Loch Lomond in 1863. He headed straight to the gold fields at Dunstan. In January of 1873 Matthew and his brother-in-law, John McLean, took joint ownership of a two-hundred acre farm at Flints Bush overlooking what would later become Thornbury. Mary Hall was the daughter of Andrew Hall and Mary Meban. Mary was born on 25 May 1949 at Ballymena, Northern Ireland
