Description

This is a family history of John and Janet Kane who began farming at Hawea Flat in 1907. This 192 page book including many black and white photographs describes the changing ways of farming undertaken by the Kane family over 150 years. These changes range from the first tractors and the mechanisation of farming, water for irrigation, the damming of the lake, battles with rabbit infestation and the development of most of the community assets on Hawea Flat today.
