Pair of sleeve braids with four gold bands edged with purple. The two central bands cross to form a diamond. The sleeve stripe represents a ranking of Chief Engineer and is from the merchant navy, Union Steam Ship Company. The pair are stitched together at the edge with a tacking stitch to keep the pair together.
