Classically-trained pianist Jan Preston toured and performed with provocateurs Red Mole, before finding mainstream pop success in the early 1980s with Coup D'Etat. Her next move was to Australia, where she founded post-punk outfit The Tribe. They released single 'Angel of the Junkheap' in 1984, a neat slice of 80s pop with simple imagery and a hooky chorus.
