Copy of a photograph of the City Rovers 3rd Grade side, the Auckland Rugby League 3rd Grade champions and winners of the Hayward Shield for 1924. Ernie Asher (Te Keepa Pouwhiuwhiu), seated front left, was a club official for many years. He was a prominent Māori rugby union and rugby league player during the 1900s and 1910s, a member of the first Māori rugby league team to tour Australia in 1908, he later played for New Zealand.
