This photograph is labeled Mr. and Mrs. Dallas (2nd wife). If the label is correct the couple is William Edward Dallas (1810-1873) and Margaret Dallas, nee Anderson (1813 to 1895). William was a seaman from the Isle of Islay and one of the first European settlers of Riverton as a ship's carpenter for Captain John Howell. Margaret was a Shetland Islander, they were married by the Reverend Johann Wohler on Ruapuke Island on 5 December 1854
