- Description
With Pacific Islanders bearing much of the blame for New Zealand's economic downturn in the 1970s, the government-sanctioned dawn raids were put into effect, with police and immigration officials terrorising Pacific families suspected of overstaying. Author Pauline Vaeluaga Smith looks to educate people about this history through her book and exhibition 'Dawn Raid - Educate to Liberate'. The exhibition is currently being shown as part of the Auckland Arts Festival.
