Description

The residence of Alfred Isaacs on Remuera Road, Remuera, known as Melrose Hall, showing the steps leading to the font entrance. The original back section of the house was the home of the Banks family from 1872 to 1878, Alfred Isaacs added the front portion in 1886, built on the model of a medieval castle, with battlements and a watch tower accessed by a spiral staircase.
