Das Pflanzen von Baumen ist eng verwoben mit einer enerationsilbergreifenden Perspektive von Landschaft und einer fur den Raum sensiblen Herangehensweise. Diese beiden Faktoren - eine langfristige Vision und eine lokale Unverwechselbarkeit - stehen im Einklang mit den Werten der Maori. So wurde das Pflanzen zum zentralen Element beim Aufbau des Milchwirtschaftsbetriebs Te Whenua Hou, der Eigentum des Maori-Stamms Ngai Tahu ist.
