Description

Above a scroll inscribed "THE NORFOLK REGT." and enclosed within a laurel wreath sits a left-facing Brittania figure, trident in left hand, olive sprig in right, above an oval shield with the emblem of the "Great Union." When cap badges were introduced in 1889, the figure of Brittania replaced the previous insignia.
