Description

Dignitaries arrive to watch the opening ceremony of the 1950 British Empire Games at Eden Park. Prime Minister Sidney Holland stands on the right of the dais. Auckland Mayor John Allum can be seen ascending the dais stairs. Officers and men of the Royal New Zealand Navy compose a Guard of Honour in the background.
