Description

A plaque was erected commemorating the opening of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petone by Archbishop Redwood on 29 October 1933. When the church was replaced by a new church in 1997, the front entrance of the old church was preserved, including the plaque commemorating the opening of the original church. The front entrance of the old church serves as the gateway to the new church.
