Clifton Firth's Photography
A DigitalNZ Story by Sienna Latham
Firth (1904-80), a graphic designer and photographer born in Auckland, drew inspiration from modernist schools like Bauhaus, Swiss typographer Jan Tschichold and Hollywood glamour. Commissioned mostly for advertising, these beautifully composed, strikingly modern images startle and entice.
