Amberley

A DigitalNZ Story by Jemma

Amberley is a town on the northern bank of the Kowai River. Named by Mrs Carter, the first owner and subdivider of the land in Canterbury, after her birthplace in Oxfordshire, England. It owed its early growth to the railway line and its stockyards.
