Kennedy Park WWII Battery

A DigitalNZ Story by Kennedy Park Battery

During World War Two gun emplacements and tunnels were installed to defend Auckland's coastline. In 1941 - 1942 a 6-inch gun battery was constructed at Castor Bay, as one of three installations to defend Northern approaches to the Rangitoto Channel.
