these photos show the ways that police officers physically removing people from their camp, and taking them away.

The way these protestors were treated is so unacceptable, especially considering they were leading a peaceful protest and meant no harm.

even though these people didn't want to be taken away, they didn't fight back and allowed the police officers to take them.

This way a peaceful protest to get their land back, and these people weren't going to fight back because that wasn't what they were there to do.

in 1976 the government proposed the idea of selling a part of  Bastion point reserve for fancy housing. It was on ancestral  land

that Ngati whatua wanted to get back, Ngati whatua started a 506 day residence at Bastion point that went from 1977 to 1978
