Pīwakawaka

A DigitalNZ Story by NollyDodge

This is a collection of pictures of the Pīwakawaka/Fantail

Piwakawaka, fantail

The Pīwakwaka or Fantail is a bird native to New Zealand. It has a distinctive fan like tail and is known for being cheeky. It will follow walkers on their bush walks cheeping at them. I've even seen a Pīwakawaka taunt my cat through the window, knowing that it is safe from harm.
